One of my favorite things is to find old embroidered textiles or lace and combine those items with fabrics from thrifted clothes to create handbags, etc. There are many great thrift stores in Northern California as well as Seattle and Las Vegas. I have an abundance of fabric and now need to get behind the sewing machine and CREATE. I'll post my thrift shop finds and my creations on this site and continue to cruise the blogosphere for inspiration.
